Bio

Vanessa Tirok is a writer, editor, and graduate of Rutgers University (class of ‘23), where she received her Bachelor of Arts in English with minors in French and Creative Writing. As a student, she served as Editor-In-Chief of The Rutgers Review, Rutgers University’s arts and culture magazine. She also received several honors and awards including the Evelyn Hamilton Award for Creative Writing (first place for creative nonfiction) as well as the 2022 Script Writers of Color Scholarship from Gotham Writers Workshop, where she currently takes screenwriting classes.

She enjoys reading, film, traveling, people-watching, and most of all, music. She currently has an obsession with the UK jazz scene, bossa nova, making playlists, and mastering the guitar. She also spends too much money on concerts, it’s becoming a problem.
